하나님을 놓치지 마십시오
DON’T MISS GOD
이런 까닭에 우리도 그것을 듣던 날부터 너희를 위해 기도하기를 그치지 아니하고 또 너희가 모든 지혜와 영적 깨달음에서 그분의 뜻을 아는 것으로 채워지며 (골로새서 1:9).
창세기는 아브라함과 그의 조카, 롯에 관한 감동적인 이야기를 말씀합니다. 하나님께서 아브라함의 고향에서 타국으로 떠나라고 그를 부르셨을 때, 롯은 그와 함께 여행했습니다 (창세기 12:4). 하나님께서 그의 여정에서 아브라함을 축복하셨을 때, 롯 또한 축복 받았습니다. 그들 모두 대단히 축복 받았고 그들이 체류했던 땅은 어느 순간 더 이상 그들의 무리들을 담을 수 없었습니다.
아브라함이, “...우리는 형제라. 원하노니 나와 너 사이에, 내 목자들과 네 목자들 사이에 다툼이 일어나게 하지 말자. 네 앞에 온 땅이 있지 아니하냐? 원하노니 너는 내게서 갈라서라. 네가 왼쪽을 취하면 나는 오른쪽으로 가고 네가 오른쪽으로 떠나면 나는 왼쪽으로 가리라, 하니라” (창세기 13:8-9) 고 말하기까지, 아브라함의 목자들과 롯의 목자들 사이에 자주 싸움이 일어났습니다.
이것이 롯의 문제가 시작되었던 부분이었습니다. 그는 한편에서 요르단의 풀이 무성한 평지를 다른 편에서 땅의 마른 부분을 보았습니다. 그는 무성한 부분을 택했고, 하나님의 심판이 소돔에 금방이라도 닥칠 것을 알지 못함으로, 소돔, 사악함의 땅에 그의 장막을 쳤습니다.
하나님께서 소돔 사람의 부당함에 대한 징벌로써 소돔에 불을 내리셨을 때, 롯의 생명은 아브라함의 중보의 결과로써 해를 입지 않았습니다. 그러나 그 (롯)는 위기 속에서 그가 소유했던 모든 것을 잃었고 결국 동굴 안에 처하게 되었습니다. 이것은 그야말로 롯이 하나님을 놓쳤기 때문에 일어났습니다, 그가 나쁜 사람이었기 때문이 아닙니다. 사실, 성경은 롯이 의로운 사람이었다 (베드로후서 2:7-8 새 국제 역본)고 말씀합니다.
이처럼 당신의 삶에서, 있어야 하는 최고의 자리는, 항상, 하나님의 뜻 한가운데 입니다. 이 세상의 유혹들에 의해 결코 넋을 잃지 마십시오. 당신이 한 선택들은 육신적인 것의 갈망에 기반해서가 아니라, 성령님의 인도하심에 따른 것이어야 합니다. 예를 들어, 그곳의 경제적인 면들 때문에 특정 도시나 국가로 그냥 이동하지 마십시오. 당신은 끔찍한 실수를 하고 있을 수 있습니다. 성경은 말씀합니다, “어떤 길은 사람이 보기에 옳으나 그것의 끝은 사망의 길들이니라” (잠언 14:12).

잠언 3:5-7 메시지 성경 온 마음으로 하나님을 신뢰하고 무슨 일이든 네 멋대로 이해하려 들지 마라. 무슨 일을 하든, 어디로 가든, 하나님의 음성에 귀 기울여라. 그분께서 네 일을 바르게 인도하실 것이다. 다 아는 체하지 마라. 하나님께로 달려가라! 악을 피해 도망쳐라!
로마서 12:2 너희는 이 세상에 동화되지 말고 오직 너희 생각을 새롭게 함으로 변화를 받아 하나님의 그 선하시고 받으실 만하며 완전하신 뜻이 무엇인지 분별하도록 하라.

DON’T MISS GOD
For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding (Colossians 1:9).
The Book of Genesis tells the touching story of Abraham and his nephew, Lot. When God called Abraham to leave his homeland for a foreign country, Lot journeyed with him (Genesis 12:4). As God blessed Abraham in his pilgrimage, Lot was also blessed. They were both so blessed that the land where they sojourned at some point could no longer contain their herds.
Fighting often broke out between Abraham’s herdsmen and Lot’s, until Abraham said, “...Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmne; for we be brethren. Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left” (Genesis 13:8-9).
This was where Lot’s problem began. He looked at the lush green plains of Jordan on one side and the dry patch of land on the other. He chose the luxuriant side, and pitched his tent near Sodom, a land of wickedness, not knowing that God’s judgement was imminent upon Sodom.
When God rained fire on Sodom as retribution for the iniquity of it people, Lot’s life was spared as a result of Abraham’s intercession. But he (Lot) lost everything he owned in the crisis and ended up in a cave. This happened to Lot simply because he missed God; not because he was a bad person. In fact, the Bible says that Lot was a righteous man (2 Peter 2:7-8 NIV).
So in your life, the best place to be, always, is at the centre of God’s will. Never be carried away by the allures of this world. The choices you make shouldn’t be based on the cravings of the flesh, but according to the leading of the Holy Spirit. For example, don’t relocate to a particular city or country simply because of its economic prospects. You could be making a costly mistake. The Bible says, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14:12).
PRAYER
Dear Father, I lay down my goals, ambitions, aspirations, desires and dreams at your feet. I trust your Word, which is the light that guides me in the path of success, victory, and greatness. Through your Word, I receive direction, illumination and insight into the mysteries and realities of the Kingdom. I recognize and act on God-given opportunities alone, yielded only to the guidance of your Spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
